A young couple with a beautiful piece of land came to me looking to build a custom home.   With 3 young children, they wanted an open floorplan, plenty of windows and light, and a large kitchen and pantry. We settled on a Modern Farmhouse which perfectly highlighted their style, love and nature and their country setting.  Our palette was Alabaster walls, painted kitchen cabinets, natural Hickory floors, and Knotty Alder doors and trim. We added texture with a few shiplap walls and range hood, and contrasted the light with dark bronze and black hardware and fixtures. The natural and organic design elements of Modern Farmhouse worked beautifully with the homeowner’s aesthetic and rural landscape.
